Covidien Plc (NYSE: COV) will launch a respiratory and monitoring device that works with a hospital patient-monitoring unit made by Philips, the global health and electronic manufacturer. Workers in Boulder will market and sell the device through Covidien's respiratory and monitoring solutions business unit, which has about 400 employees.

Boulder-based Radish Systems LLC released its ChoiceView 2.0 software. Its new features allow domestic and international callers to send photos/videos and see any visuals while talking/texting on any network with mobile devices.

Louisville-based Global Healthcare Exchange Inc. updated its GHX Procurement Suite used by health-care providers with Smart Search, a search engine that helps drive on-contract spending by allowing users to quickly find items in their item master and other catalogs, even if they only know a portion of the product name or part number.

Sphero, the robotic ball built by Boulder-based Orbotix Inc., has rolled into a number of Apple Stores. The ball also is available online at www.Apple.com for $129.95. Sphero is for sale in 11 Apple stores, none in Colorado. Shoppers also can buy Sphero at Brookstone stores around the country. Orbotix is a Boulder-based company headed by chief executive Paul Berberian. The company was launched during TechStars 2010 Boulder program.
